MUMBAI - PART 1

mumbai ashnaways

The name is enough. “Naam hi kaafi hai”. Every single person you ask will be seen doing something. "Paapi pet ka Jo sawaal hai". Most students will just not be studying but will be working too, so that their lifestyle does not create a pressure on their family. Obviously leaving a bunch of rich spoiled kids who know that they'll end up getting their "papa ka office" and his property anyways.
Harsh yet truthful. This first post focuses  on the lifestyle of a youngster between the age group of 18-30. Well at most places young means 18-24 but when in Mumbai there’s no limit to how young you can be. SO let’s just take the max limit here as 30.
Early morning college, internships later followed by a party and if Redbull helps then there we go for an after party as well. It wouldn't just be a vague generalization if I say, "Every young party buff has had numerous such moments." Well I certainly have done it & it’s like a new story very passing day! Seeing a lady in train crying early morning while sitting next to her best friend about her hardships at home, followed by quaky conversations of some junior college fellas while waiting in the rickshaw or taxi que to reach their destination. Our day starts with (almost) every young Mumbaikar's patent chai-sutta or coffee –sutta. Sutta (cigarette) Na mile toh ,"boss I need a vacation, I need a break" is our ultimate quote. Sunburn is like our best getaway. It's the city where people come closer to their dreams while leading a life away from family. Really hard to manage for a day to visit our family living across the country so friends, the family away from family are the best people to spend a weekend with.
We are so busy that catching up means meeting at Bandra station, travelling up to Andheri and then planning again to meet someday soon. Well, some day when both leave office on time. Hoppipola, Irish house , Candies, Carter Blue, Alfredos , Pizza by the bay , Amar’s , Bade Miya, Prithvi Cafe, Chai Coffee  are the regular spots we can be spotted upon . The best part of being in Mumbai is obviously Bollywood. Chilling at Yaari road means guaranteed celebrity darshan! Planning to go to a pub in Juhu or Bandra on a weekend, celebrity spotting is a must.

But when it comes to travelling, plans are not as impromptu as it may seem. Catching a 9 o’clock start local is a big deal. Standing at the edge of a train makes us feel like a superhero. For me and most of us after a day of workload standing at the edge & taking the hit of that wind is an adventure only a Mumbaikar will understand.

Talking about relationships, Mumbai is undoubtedly the market for all sorts of romances. From long term couples to long distance but still very much in love couples, the friends with benefits (oh yes they do exist), the every week naya pyaar wala relationship. Mumbai is a place where love can either go on forever or even change before a blink.
Relentlessly a city of dreams, passion, love, food, friendship, parties, colleges, fests etc. etc. (Comment if I missed any aspect) .A perfect place for a young soul.

The journey has just started and you need to be a part of it!

Doesn't matter, a Mumbaikar or not! You'll either relate or explore...
